DarKside Studio: "WELCOME TO THE DARKSIDE
OF THE MIND"
may 3, 2011
Took Flip Ultra HD to a Juke Joint Festival at the, Crossroads
The DarKside Studio staff took a road trip, Down to the Crossroads, Clarksdale, Mississippi, for the 8th Annual Juke Joint
Festival and Frisco and I had a really good time and caught some great video using the Flip Ultra HD. I am getting a better
feel on judging the distance between me and decent audio.
The Flip Ultra HD video recorder captures incredibiley good
visual. You will see the Flip at it's best outdoors. The sunsets are spectacular and the audio is sensitive enough to pick
up a squirrel munching on a peanut from about four feet away, (and not directly in front of the squirrel either).
When
filming bands, cymbals are a challenge upclose, but not near as damaging to sound quality as being to close to the spearker
system, which, I guess, can be said about any video recorder not specifically designed to capture a live band up close, (such
as the Zoom Q3).
Overall, we had a really good time at our first Juke Joint Fest and look forward to making another.
Here is one of the videos filmed at, Club Ground Zero. It's Cedric Burnside, and he does an excellent drum solo. I was fairly
close to the stage, but behind the speaker system.
Have made some decisions on how to distribute content created for the websites. Darkside Studio will focus on musical equipment,
studio business and music and audio sound tracks. Twisted Mind Streams will handle the animations and movies. The Carroll
Gazette (The Modern Pamphleteer) will handle distribution and public relations.
Work produced was getting to mixed up
and not relating to the websites goal and directions. So some distribution analysis was needed.
"Texas"; "Should Have Went To Texas". An original song written and performed by Don Rounds.
I
had just t recieved a song titled "Texas". It's a great story of a some one who went searching for the perfect vacation
and after several sour experiences, realized, there is no place like home, or Texas!
I started working with Windows Movie Maker and used an original song, Drive All Night written and performed by Don Rounds,
to put together a concept video based on the lyrics using a single picture.
Started using the free Go Animate site around March 27, 2011 and within a few days I soon upgraded the account. This is
the first video I did spoofing the, Charlie Sheen Good Morning America interview, where he spontanously created a brilliant
moment with a retort of, "WINNING", in a response to a question about the rumors that he may indeed
be, BI-POLAR.
